Improved Shuttle Bus Schedule

TUCSC has considered and understood many students concerns of having to rush to the Shuttle buses only finding it to be fully packed. With this revised Shuttle Bus schedule it would certainly be more convenience to take  the shuttle bus for everyone.

Recycle Bins

If you've walked around the campus you probably have noticed these colorful Recycle Bins

Have you done your part? By recycling? Trowing your rubbish in the allocated bin?

FAQ - Issues at Lakeside

As Taylor's University College Student Council (TUCSC) we hope to communicate more with students. We too understand your frustrations and are doing as much as we can to help everybody. Taylorians, Our priority. Hence, below will be some of the concerns and our replies to you on the current issues at lakeside campus.

Lakeside NOT enough Parking Space.
We are Taylorians too! As of now, we have approx 9000+ students on campus. Our current information on Parking lots in campus are as stated in the PDF file on Student Portal (link). There are a certain percentage of students that are taking the Taylor's Shuttle bus from hostel as well as students who are doing car pooling. Talking about parking space, from the statistic received by the Facilities Management there are about 200+ available car park lots everyday in the campus. For car park issues the Council is aware of this matter and is currently in amidst of discussion with the Institution on the next course of actions.

if link can't be access:

The Parking area are damaging our cars Why aren't the Management doing anything for the land to be tar.
At the moment, the Council is looking on the car park land safety and it seems like the Institution is taking an initiative to tar the land for Taylorians' safety and convenience. Let's give us a little more time in order to come up with a better plan towards creating a better campus environment for all. Please bear with us for the time being. However, some lands* do not belong to Taylor's hence, the management are Not allow to do anything on the land. (*refer to parking fees charges)

Parking Fees charges
With the limited resources of car park spaces and the need to maintain car park areas a parking fee will be imposed. However, it will be managed by an External car park operator & we do not know How much the fee would be yet. Please do not speculate the fees as rumors are going on. And before charging the students on parking fee the management will ensure the safety of students hence, most probably will tar the road, put proper road sign, with drawing of car park lots. (This only applies to our Taylor's Land, as the management cannot do anything on those rented land as it is prohibited to tar the land fyi land that belongs to Taylor's is only up till the basketball court & opposite the lake)

It is so HOT to walk all the way to campus from car park areas
We understand this as we too walk under the sun, however this matter has been brought up to the management and they are considering the possible way for it.

Why are some parking lots Reserved to Lecturers and Staffs
As students shouldn't we consider our lecturers carrying Laptops and heavy bags walk so far to the campus?  think about it.
We walk as far as our cars are parked too. As for Staff parking, IF you are working for a company do you wish that the company provides you with a Staff Parking area? If the company do not provide any Staff parking area does your motivation to work decrease as well as hopping to work in another company. Staff parking is part of Employee Benefits. Do young people need a Valet parking in a University College? We are here to study and the amount of money paid is for the Quality of our education taught (Taylor's has so many field trips, seminars and workshops all for free however only a small amount of students actually participate and make full use of these facilities included - that's making full use of the amount of money you paid for). Should the teaching technique you find doesn't equivalent to the amount of money paid, Please suggest to your Divisional Office.

Why so many bumps/speed breakers in campus
This is to prevent students from speeding as many near-accidents and accidents had occurred due to students driving very fast and speeding out the turning. Students walking as well as cars entering are almost hit. This is for the safety of everyone. As to why is it so high answered by facilities management it is the measurement approved.

Our cars are scratched...how?
The security guards had warned strictly many Not to park at some sharp cornering or places that are too tight to park. Parking your cars properly should be of your own responsibility however, majority of the Drivers in campus are "P" hence, most of them are not-so-experienced drivers and some drive recklessly. Not much can be done for now except taking own initiative to park at proper parking areas. When the Car park operator comes the road (regarding to only Land of Taylor's will be tar and draw lines for parking lots).

Shuttle Bus too crowded. Not enough buses.
The Council is also scrutinizing into the Shuttle Bus issue too so that Taylorians will have other alternatives to access to the campus.

Do we need to Pay for Shuttle Bus services?
NO. it has been many years that Taylorian's take shuttle bus for Free! If there's any rumor on this please stop spreading. If you heard any bus driver asking for fees do let us know asap.

The Traffic is terrible
source: The Star (Wednesday May 12, 2010) Measures taken to alleviate traffic congestion in Bandar Sunway (link) and The Star property (link)
The management has taken action in this matter hence, please give them some time before the new alternative road is ready.

Expensive Meals
Info Food prices in ranges
Recces (food court) from RM 5 - Rm 7+
Temptations from RM 6 - Rm 12+
Truffles, Tarragon, Thyme (Taylor's fine dining restaurants) Rm 10 per pax "3 course meal"
Desert Bar meals RM 8-16+ deserts Rm 3 - Rm 9+
Norwegian Sandwich bar ranges Rm3 - Rm 10
Sisters Crispy Popiah ranges  Rm 3 - Rm 9+
Chill Cafe ranges Rm 2 - Rm 8+

When the commercial blocks are ready which is expected by July there will be a food court of about 12 Stalls and other variety of food outlets. Facilities Management will be bringing in more Mobile vendors to increase the variety of Foods available.

The Food court is so crowded without any proper ventilation
When the building was constructed, the food court (Recces) is only known to be Temporarily. That location is actually for the use other purposes. That is why there's limited food choices and no proper ventilation. Additional fans have been placed too.

Why is this a NO Smoking Campus
Its is by the Malaysia regulations that ALL campus in Malaysia are a non-smoking campus! If students are found smoking a fine will be imposed stated by the regulations onto the smoker. Hence, there will not be any smoking areas. If students are found smoking, disciplinary action will be taken by the management.
FYI: Monash uni have a smoking area because they are international university hence, different from the Malaysia university regulations.

Not enough computers at the library
the computers in the library are sufficient to support student’s requirements to search library catalogue, online resources and other academic information searching. The number of computers complies with the MQA requirement in private university library set up. TUC have other computer lab, thus students are encourage to utilize the labs.
